How to use the EastWest Hollywood Strings instrument - EastWest finally released this highly anticipated library, featuring world-class performances by an international string ensemble. To help you get modelling faster, we've put together a step-by-step guide on how to use the EastWest Hollywood Strings instrument in your tracks. 1. Choosing the performance layer You can choose to use the EastWest Hollywood Strings instrument in the Performance or in the Session view. When using it in Session, you can place it on any of your tracks for its own solo part, though it's more convenient to use it with an existing track you're already working with. 2. Importing samples into your project Open up your session folder and navigate to the Instruments folder (usually located at C:\\Program Files (x86)\\EastWest\\Hollywood Strings). Copy and paste all of these folders into your project's instruments folder (usually located at C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Common Files\\VST2\\Instruments). 3. Placing the EastWest Hollywood Strings instrument If you're using the EastWest Hollywood Strings instrument in Session, just drag it into your track of choice. If you're using it in Performance, simply double-click on it to load it. 4. Playing the EastWest Hollywood Strings instrument Once you've saved your presets, simply open up the Instruments folder using the Load/Save Preset dialogue box, and open up the EastWest Hollywood Strings instrument.
